We're glad you stopped by....
Romeo's Dog House
Recently we relocated to the Hendersonville area and purchased our new home specifically to be a dog haven.
Romeo's Dog House started two years ago while watching my numerous past foster dogs when their new families went on vacation. I enjoyed it as much as fostering so I decided to become a full time dog sitter. We quickly out grew our old home & decided to move Romeo's Dog House to Hendersonville. We needed more space and wanted a beautiful place in the woods for the pups. We have made our home here for the dogs and every dog that comes over is treated like a family pet.
When your dog(s) stays with us, they will be cared for one on one without all the noise, stress, and distraction of a traditional kennel. For your comfort we provide around the clock care making their stay with us as pleasant as possible. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment where your pup can let off any excess energy and just be a DOG. We provide the crate, so all you have to bring is food and their favorite bed or blankie.
Most pups think they are at the best dog park ever; there is always a group to play with! If your dog doesn't want to play, that's okay too, there is room to be alone and still be able to see everyone. We have a fenced in backyard with a beautiful wooded setting for them and a 2 car garage that has been transformed into a wonderful play area. Our finished walk out basement with lots of natural light is where we all stay. I do crate for safety purposes when feeding, sleeping, or when no supervision is available.
The safety, happiness, and well being of all the dogs are my main priorities. I am trained in PetTech CPR and first aid.
In my younger years, I worked at a pet store, vet/emergency clinic, and a kennel. For the past 8 years my family has been affiliated with 3 different rescue groups. We have fostered over 70 dogs in the past 8 years and along the way adopted 3 wonderful rescue dogs. We all benefit from our foster dogs. My dogs enjoy the non-stop company, and I enjoy watching my fosters leave their past behind while they evolve into the dogs they were meant to be. Fostering has taught me that ALL dogs are great; they just need to have somebody who loves and understands them. A rescued dog is the best kind! When I started fostering I learned as much I could about dogs from animal professionals, dog enthusiasts and books. Lots and lots of books! I continue to expand my knowledge through online training courses and by simply observing dogs everyday.
On staff are three wonderful Golden Retrievers, one crazy Min Pin/Jack Russell Terrier, and two resident Siamese cats who try to stay as far away as possible from the dogs. My Goldens are very gentle and love to play with other dogs. My circus dog can out play anyone and rules everyone!
